How to monitor a case
- Search for a federal case by party name or case number and confirm its court and docket.
- Choose the monitoring option on the case, or create a party monitor to look for matching cases.
- Review the email summary and open the source docket or filing for the details.
Case and party monitors answer different questions: one follows a known docket; the other looks for cases involving the name you enter. Review matches to distinguish people or companies with similar names.
When checks and emails happen
Priority case monitors are scheduled for 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern each day.
Party monitors check for matching cases on the 9 a.m. Eastern daily run.
Weekly monitors are scheduled for Monday mornings (Eastern time).
Emails are sent when a scheduled check finds new activity. Court availability and processing can delay delivery; monitoring is not an instant notification service.
Use the court’s official notices and docket to confirm deadlines. A monitoring email is a research aid.
Included monitors and court coverage
The $199.99/month subscription includes 10 case or party monitors and 150 PACER pages. Additional monitors cost $9.99/month each.
The service is for federal court research. Confirm the court and available monitoring options when adding a case; state court cases are outside this product’s coverage. You do not need to supply your own PACER credentials.
