Frequently Asked Questions

What is PacerAlert?

PacerAlert is a scheduled monitoring service for federal cases and parties. It emails a summary when a check finds new activity matching your monitor.

Can I search by party name?

Yes! You can monitor by case number OR by party name. Party name monitoring lets you track an individual's or company's litigation activity across all federal courts — perfect for due diligence, competitive intelligence, or keeping tabs on specific entities.

Do I need PACER credentials?

No. PacerAlert works without requiring your PACER login, so your account stays secure and uncluttered. We handle all the PACER interaction on your behalf.

Who is it for?

Lawyers, journalists, researchers, or anyone who wants to track federal cases without constantly refreshing PACER. If you need to stay informed about court activity, PacerAlert is for you.

Why use PacerAlert?

PacerAlert reduces repeated manual docket checks and helps you decide which new filings to read. Confirm deadlines against official court notices and the docket.

How often are alerts sent?

Priority case monitors are scheduled for 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern each day. Party monitors check for matching cases on the 9 a.m. Eastern daily run. Weekly monitors are scheduled for Monday mornings (Eastern time). Emails are sent when a scheduled check finds new activity. Court availability and processing can delay delivery; monitoring is not an instant notification service.
